Orthodontic Must-Haves for Braces and Invisalign Patients

At Glander Rochford Orthodontics, we understand that undergoing orthodontic treatment can be a significant change and adjustment for many of our patients. There are so many benefits to orthodontic treatment, but we also understand that some parts of treatment may be a little uncomfortable.

Fortunately, there are several items you can purchase to make this process a little bit more enjoyable. In this post we share our top recommendations for items to buy that can make your orthodontic treatment journey feel better. Whether you’re a current patient or preparing to start treatment in the future, these items will be helpful in your journey to straighter teeth.

Orthodontic Must-HAves for Braces and Invisalign Patients

  1. Shock Doctor Mouthguards - If you play a sport and have braces, these mouthgards are essential for keeping your mouth safe.

  2. OrthoDots - These little dots stick onto your bracket to help relieve any discomfort associated with your braces.

  3. EverSmile Aligner and Retainer Cleaner - This aligner and retainer cleaner is amazing for use on the go. You pump the foam into your retainer or aligner tray, then put the tray into your mouth and the aligner or retainer is refreshed while you wear it.

  4. Goby Replacement Toothbrush Heads - We are huge fans of this electronic toothbrush and sell it in our office. The replacement heads are only $6 and you can sign up for a subscription so they get delivered to your house regularly!

  5. Orthodontic Flossers - These flossers are designed to work with braces and allow you to floss underneath the wire of your braces.

  6. Removing Tool - This tool is used for removing Invisalign or Essix retainers. You can absolutely remove the appliance without this tool, but some people find that using this tool makes it a little bit easier.

  7. Water Flosser - Using a water flosser is another great way to keep your teeth and gums healthy while wearing braces. It is a helpful way to remove anything stuck in your teeth that you weren’t able to remove with brushing.

  8. Invisalign Cases - We give you one Invisalign case when you start Invisalign treatment, but we recommend having at least two cases. One case to have at home and one case to have with you at all times so that you can easily store your aligners when you aren’t wearing them.

  9. Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser - This is another GRO team favorite in the flossing department.

So, if you’re starting your braces journey or if you are planning ahead, these tools will help make the process of having braces or Invisalign a little bit smoother.
